Mental Health Discrimination BIll
This Friday morning (14th September 2012) will see the House of Commons debate the Mental Health Discrimination Bill that is being proposed by Gavin Barwell MP.
The Bill aims to remove or change three pieces of law that discriminate against those that have suffered with mental illness including preventing people from serving on a jury, becoming a company director or serving as an MP.
Mind, Rethink Mental Illness and the Royal College of Psychiatrists are supporting the Bill and are asking people to contact their MPs to urge them to back the bill.
The Bill needs 100 MPs to support it this Friday morning in the House of Commons in order for it to continue to the next stage in Parliament.
You can help support the campaign in a number of ways by emailing your MP or tweeting them and asking them to support the Mental Health Discrimination Bill this Friday. If you are on Twitter you can follow the campaign at #backthebill
