The Samaritans and Black Dog Tribe have become the latest organisations to join YoungMinds to support ‘Rethink Your Mind’ a creative challenge which launches on World Mental Health Day.

YoungMinds is supporting the nationwide music and arts programme that aims to raise awareness about mental health. Everyone is invited to use the theme of mental health to produce words and artwork which will be showcased on the website at www.rethinkyourmind.co.uk.

Selected work will be published in a book and the winning lyrics will feature on new singles by Rubie Colt, an Urban Fusion artists and Refuge, a band in the Midlands.

Refuge is re-releasing Sweet Comfort for the Soul from on October 10 World Mental Health Day, which also marks the debut of Rubie’s first single, Speak to Me.

“It’s such an exciting project to be part of and I can’t wait to sing the winning lyrics,” adds Rubie. “Mental health is an issue for all ages, but young people can find it harder to talk about their problems and reach out for help.

The website will also provide a mental health help guide listing support organisations for people wanting more information and help.

The project has been launched by Safe Inside, Safe Outside (SISO), a Midlands-based community interest company.
