World Mental Health Day in Newcastle
World Mental Health Day was celebrated in Newcastle on Saturday 6th October beside the Monument in the city centre.
Young people from the VIK project have supported the Newcastle event for the last three years and it is always very popular with supporters of World Mental Health Day and shoppers in the city centre too.
North East Youth Board members Charlotte, Jack and Allie asked shoppers and passers by what made them happy and filled out ‘leaves’ with their responses to add to our ‘Tree of Happiness’ at a later date.
Lots of people contributed to the tree and stopped at the YoungMinds stall to share their thoughts about mental health with VIK regional worker Yvonne Collins.
Supporters also enjoyed music and dancing at the event.
