We need to wake up to the sexualisation of children and young people

In the Guardian letters page Lucie Russell, Director of Campaigns, Policy and Participation, warns of the dangers of children and young people being bombarded by sexualised advertisements.

In her letter, Lucie warns of the dangers of children and young people being targeted by ever-increasing corporate interests that are putting commercial interest before children's welfare.

YoungMinds is concerned that children and young people are vulnerable to aggressive sexual advertising campaigns as areas of the brain which regulate impulse behaviour are not yet fully developed.
