There are two parliamentary debates today on mental health and wellbeing, one in the House of Commons and one in the House of Lords.

The House of Commons debate is on the topic of 'Mental Health' and five hours of time has been scheduled for it. I'd argue that five hours is barely enough time to cover such a wide ranging issue but it is great that politicians are at least discussing the issue. YoungMinds has been lobbying MPs ahead of the debate about the importance of children and young people's mental health. You can read what we have been saying here.

The House of Lords debate will be looking at the 'Contribution of schools to the well-being and personal and social needs of children and young people'. The Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition has been briefing peers ahead of the debate about the vital role schools can play.

You can read what YoungMinds had to say ahead of the debates here and you can watch the debates here.
