The North East Mental Health Youth Board, also known as Change UR Mind, are busy working with community drama group ‘Them Wifies’  in the north-east to develop a play aimed at challenging stigma around mental health

‘Them Wifies’ has been working with disadvantaged groups for the last 30 years using creativity and the arts to increase independence and self-esteem, boost confidence and improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

The North East Mental Health Youth Board and ‘Them Wifies’ want to develop the play to challenge stigma around mental health as well as increasing knowledge among young people around issues including depression, eating disorders, psychosis, self-harm and stress in young men.

The play will be piloted in three different young people’s groups in the north-east in September and will then be available for delivery around the north-east, subject to funds becoming available.

Visit here for more information on the community group.
