Take part in the DfE BOND Pilot Programme of Capacity Building Support
Take part in the DfE BOND Pilot Programme of Capacity Building Support - leading the field in enabling improved early intervention mental health services for children and young people delivered by VCSOs
The Bond Consortium is offering a unique opportunity for local authorities to experience 3-6 months bespoke, intensive expertise to build the capacity of voluntary and community organisations in their local area to deliver quality assured, early intervention mental health services with ongoing access to peer support and learning.
Funded by the Department for Education, BOND (Better Outcomes, New Delivery), is a two-year sector-led programme that works with local authorities, the voluntary and community sector, Head Teachers and NHS Commissioners to achieve improved quality and accessibility of locally provided early intervention mental health services in schools and other settings, with improved outcomes for local children and young people.
The Bond Consortium has now announced that the application process to be involved in a Pilot Area is now open. For further details please contact bond@youngminds.org.uk
Sarah Brennan, Chief Executive of YoungMinds and Chair of the Bond Consortium said:
“I’m delighted to announce the next phase of BOND. Already in our first pilot in Tees Valley we are seeing the significant impacts in bringing together commissioners and providers of early intervention mental health services.
“Many children and young people across the country are struggling to cope with mental health problems. BOND aims to help them get the right help they need as early as possible, before their problems escalate.”
BOND’s programme provides workshops, one-to-one support and action learning sets for voluntary and community sector organisations, commissioners and schools. We are currently working in the Tees Valley area of England, you can find out more information about this work on our website.
The Pilot programme will lead to:
- ‘Commission-ready’ VCSOs able to demonstrate outcomes, quality and specific service strengths
- Greater awareness and increased likelihood of commissioners purchasing services from VCSOs
- Strengthened relationships between commissioners and VCSOs – with the potential for a joint approach to the future development of the local provider market
- Greater choice and raised quality of provision for service users
- Strengthened leadership within the VCS to influence decision-making about service provision.
- Greater clarity about local commissioning priorities
We are seeking expressions of interest from Local Authorities and their partners who are interested in working with BOND in the near future. The programmes will start in either October or January/February. There is further information on our website including clear details on how to express interest in taking part in BOND. The Expression of Interest form should be completed and returned by 5pm on Wednesday 4 July.
