Bereavement
The death of someone very close to a child or young person, whether that is a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend, may result in a whole range of emotions including being sad, depressed, anxious and angry.
Most children will be able to grieve and, over time, come to terms with this loss with the support of family and friends.
However, others will find life in general hard to cope with, may become anxious about their own health or that of others, and can find it hard to move on. They may not realise themselves what is causing their worries and might find it hard to talk about.
If you are worried that your child may be finding a death hard to come to terms with, then YoungMinds Parents Helpline will be happy to discuss your concerns.
