Comedy as a tool to engage fathers

Comedy provides a tool that acts as an incentive to engage fathers and to convey important messages regarding emotional well being.

The Leicester Comedy Festival show 'Those YoungMinds' show looks to bring these issues out in the open where they can be discussed.

The project focuses on the needs of Fathers in a format that makes Mental Health accessible and attractive, and enables them to overcome concerns they have when assessing information and support.

“If you can make them laugh you can make them listen. It’s about breaking down barriers”
John Ryan

“Fatherhood is immensely rewarding but can be hard work too – and I am glad that organisations such as YoungMinds are working to highlight how important it is for fathers to be supported in their role”
Gordon Brown
