Children’s mental health and psychological wellbeing is everybody’s business and all of us working with children have an impact on their developing mental health.
This multi-disciplinary course will provide a foundation for understanding and working with conceptual models of mental health and wellbeing, attachment, neuroscience, risk and resilience. It offers an overview of current thinking and research that can help participants to deepen their understanding and develop their practice with children, young people and families.
The course will enable participants to consider how, through their role, they can promote mental health, identify early mental health problems and work together with others to improve access to services and support.
By bringing together different perspectives, including the voices of children and young people and of parents and carers, the course will challenge some of the myths surrounding mental health and suggest tools and strategies that can guide practice in education, social care, health, VCS or other settings.
"One of the most relevant courses I have attended with opportunities to discuss, share experiences and go away feeling more confident in my ability."
