Our new wellbeing in schools campaign is coming soon
Join our major new campaign and help rebalance the education system
School can be tough for any student, but right now three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health condition. Many more say that they are constantly unhappy because of the pressures they face.
All through school me and my friends were always being told that if we mess up in our exams, then we have messed up our futures. The pressure made me feel so stressed out all the time - I didn’t eat or sleep properly for ages and I felt so unhappy and desperate.” Jessica – YoungMinds activist
What’s the issue?
Schools don’t exist only to educate children to pass exams. They should be helping children and young people to live happy, health lives.
Right now, the balance between academic achievement and wellbeing is wrong. Wellbeing simply isn’t being given the prominence it needs and deserves, and that needs to change.
