Our new wellbeing in schools campaign is coming soon

Join our major new campaign and help rebalance the education system

Back to schoolSchool can be tough for any student, but right now three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health condition. Many more say that they are constantly unhappy because of the pressures they face.

All through school me and my friends were always being told that if we mess up in our exams, then we have messed up our futures. The pressure made me feel so stressed out all the time - I didn’t eat or sleep properly for ages and I felt so unhappy and desperate.” Jessica – YoungMinds activist

What’s the issue?

Schools don’t exist only to educate children to pass exams. They should be helping children and young people to live happy, health lives.

Right now, the balance between academic achievement and wellbeing is wrong. Wellbeing simply isn’t being given the prominence it needs and deserves, and that needs to change.

Join the campaign

In early 2017, YoungMinds will launch a major new campaign, calling on the Government to help schools place more emphasis on promoting the wellbeing of their students. Email campaigns@youngminds.org.uk to join the groundswell of young people, parents, teachers and schools who are pledging their support.

If you are a school or another organisation that would like to get involved, please email amber.cowburn@youngminds.org.uk to find out how you can help.

If you are an individual who is passionate about wellbeing in schools, please sign up here for the YoungMinds e-newsletter and receive campaign updates.

Young Minds are delighted to be working with NCB on this campaign.
