Why fathers should speak to us ...

Fathers are just as important as anyone else when it comes to the wellbeing of children and young people and can have a particularly important role in helping young people through difficulties, so why don't we hear from you?

asian man with sonYoungMinds is committed to supporting fathers as we know you have a vital role to play in the development of your children and family.

In the past, many services have often been targeted at mothers and there is still the expectation that it is mothers who take responsibility for bringing up children and that the fathers role is the provider. But we also know that fathers want to take more of a role in the development of their children.

This is why the Parents information service is committed to helping fathers bring their children through difficult time, or who are unsure what is happening to their children.

Fathers have feelings too

Our booklet, Fathers have feelings too, helps fathers at all stages of fatherhood. It provides tips on how to recognise emotional difficulties and how to support children through them. If you'd like a copy why not download one from this site or ring the Parents information service.

Dads Space

How often should you change nappies? Can you help with homework when you don't know the answers? Should you allow your kids to stick metal cutlery in electrical outlets?

The answers to these, and many other questions can be found on Dads Space, the awesome new website aimed at any parent who wants to be entertained as well as informed. We've got celebrity interviews, hillarious product reviews and great articles, and the site is updated every day.

Dads Space is Top Gear meets Supernanny - edgy, opinionated, but always well researched.
