Hook up with Healthy Heads, this Summer
23/06/2008
YoungMinds, the UK’s leading mental health charity is calling on 5-25 year olds to join its virtual discussion group Healthy Heads, to advise from a child and young persons view what makes them happy and unhappy and how we can help them.
Anna Devereux-Murray, YoungMinds Participation Coordinator said: “Part of my job is to make sure that adults keep children and young people as emotionally healthy and happy as they can be. Children and young people are experts in knowing what they need to do to stay emotionally healthy and to us the most important people in the country to listen to... so please talk to us and don’t be shy!”
Healthy Heads works with local and national organisations to provide young people with a voice to inform and influence national campaigns and policy. The group’s work on the Mental Health Act resulted in extraordinary change ensuring young people under 18 who need to be admitted to hospital will be treated in an environment which meets their needs.
