Feelings

One of the characteristics of being young is going through a lot of different feelings and emotions. You may feel happy and positive about your life one week, but down-hearted, sad and negative another.

This is quite normal provided you can get on with living your life the way you want, and have ways to deal with the different feelings.

You may get times when you feel completely down about all the things that once gave you pleasure, and family and friends cannot help you .If so, you may be depressed. Or you may get angry a lot and have little control over where your anger takes you.

Stress and pressure can make you very unhappy, affect sleep, lead to headaches and eating difficulties. If you recognise these symptoms you might consider seeking help. Maybe a counsellor or therapist will be able to help you, but if your symptoms are troubling enough it is possible your doctor will suggest you take medication to help ease the problems you're having before referring you to a counsellor.
