Adulthood

Becoming an adult can be fun because you start to take responsibility for your own life and work out where you want to go and what you want to do.

Although it can be exciting it can also be really stressful and confusing. We all worry about the ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybes’ and it is important to understand how you are feeling and give yourself time and space to work things out.

Working out adulthood

It can be hard when you are not a child anymore but you are not fully an adult either. Legally you are allowed to do more things but emotionally you may feel like you have a long way to go. Or it can be the other way round – you feel grown up but trapped because you don’t have enough freedom.

There a lots of things that you might be struggling with like:

  • What job you want to do
  • Sex
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Pressure from friends, people at school or family
  • Exam stress

It’s good to talk over these feelings with someone you can trust. You might have a better chance of sorting them out if you can talk about your worries with someone.

If you don't want to talk to someone you know then there are organisations who can help you work things out. LINKS
