Youth Panellist He/Him Ken
Ken is part of our Youth Panel and wants to bring his perspective to the mental health scene to support queer visibility. Find out more about Ken.
I think queer visibility and mental health is important. I can offer a perspective of a young person working on their identity and provide a view from my background and current point in life as a university student.
The value I relate the most to is: 'we celebrate what makes you, you'.
Understanding individual differences as something to be celebrated I believe is something amazing and core to YoungMinds. Through an appreciation of all the different aspects of people, we can learn how to approach different challenges.
I switch off by listening to music, seeing friends or finding a new cute place to eat.
Our Youth Panel works with us for three years to help shape our future as a charity and achieve our mission. They talk about things like strategy, safeguarding, fundraising, organisational culture, risk management, data protection, brand and marketing.
Our current Youth Panel joined us in October 2023.
