- she/her Ro Mitchell (Row Mit-chul)

Why have you chosen to support YoungMinds?

"I have chosen to support Young Minds because they’re a charity actively pushing for change, whilst also offering support for those who cannot access it and raising awareness about the reality of mental illness, not just the more socially accepted mental health topics which can sometimes feel like a trendy topic or a bandwagon to jump on, rather than people seeing the level of crisis in the UK."

  • What do you do to switch off and take care of your mental health?

"Spend time doing screen-free hobbies: reading, walking in nature, playing board games etc. Also having a good night’s sleep benefits my mental state a lot more than I used to realise."

  • What advice would you give to your younger self?

"Stop being so hard on yourself, you’re not behind, you’re not failing, and you’re not any of the mean things you say to yourself. Your thoughts are not facts. Be kind to yourself, and have hope - things always get better."

Which of our values do you relate to most and why?

"Not afraid to speak up for what’s right."

"Me too - even though it can be difficult to use your voice, I believe that if I can use my experience to just make one person’s life better, that initial discomfort is worth it. People often hide away from things that are hard to talk about and yet they are the things that need talking about most."
