Digital Content Manager

£43,713 - £48,570 per annum

We're looking for a Digital Content Manager to lead the development and delivery of our website and digital content strategy, ensuring our digital channels play a central role in achieving our mission. This role manages a talented team of Senior Digital Content Officers and works closely with colleagues across communications, marketing, youth engagement, fundraising and beyond, to deliver impactful, user-focused content and campaigns. You will also play a key role in the development of multi-channel campaigns to expand our reach, particularly among Black and minoritised young people.

We are currently working with a hybrid working model, where there is the option of working from home combined with 4-12 days a month of working in the office.

About this role

You’ll manage a talented team, shape our digital content strategy, and ensure our website and campaigns effectively support young people’s mental health and our organisational goals.

Strategic leadership of website and content

  • Act as strategic lead for the website, ensuring content, navigation, functionality and design support organisational goals.
  • Lead the website content strategy, ensuring high-quality, engaging and on-brand content.
  • Work with the Product Manager and digital agencies to improve UX, SEO, accessibility and design.
  • Develop the organisation’s digital service model to reach more young people with support and advice.

Content and campaigns

  • Oversee blogging strategy and growth of the young people’s blog.
  • Lead development of content and campaigns that engage Black and minoritised young people and parents.
  • Work with Brand, Marketing and Social Media teams to deliver multi-channel campaigns.
  • Ensure young people are involved in co-creating content and user journeys.

Organisational digital leadership

  • Provide digital expertise and strategic advice across the organisation.
  • Train and support staff (“digital reps”) to create and manage web content.
  • Explore new digital technologies and approaches to enhance delivery.
  • Represent and champion the website internally and externally.

Performance, insight and reporting

  • Measure the impact of digital content and the website.
  • Produce regular performance reports for senior leadership and trustees.
  • Use analytics and insights to continuously improve digital performance.

Team leadership

  • Line manage and support Senior Digital Content Officers.
  • Deputise for the Head of Communications and Content when required.

General responsibilities

  • Champion youth voice, safeguarding, and anti-racist and inclusive practice.
  • Support organisational culture, events and fundraising activity.
  • Ensure privacy-led data management and responsible use of technology.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced digital leader who combines strategic thinking, strong content expertise and people management skills.

You will have:

  • Experience developing websites and user journeys to meet strategic objectives.
  • Experience using analytics and creative problem solving to improve UX and performance.
  • Experience developing digital content strategies for specific audiences.
  • Proven line management experience.
  • Experience designing and reporting against KPIs for websites or digital products.

You will be able to:

  • Write and edit clear, engaging web copy for diverse audiences.
  • Co-create digital products and user journeys with young people.
  • Lead complex digital projects and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.

You will also bring knowledge of Google Analytics and web performance tools, SEO best practice, CMS platforms, user research methodologies, and trends in digital communications. A strong understanding of young people’s mental health and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion are essential.
