A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of People to join the YoungMinds people team in a permanent role. The Head of People will provide strategic and operational human resources leadership across the organisation, working closely with the senior leadership team (SLT) and senior management team (SMT) to deliver the organisation's strategy.

We are currently working with a hybrid working model, where there is the option of working from home combined with 4-12 days a month of working in the office.

About this role

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, this autonomous position will develop and deliver the People Strategy through the delivery of projects and plans, ensuring they are aligned with the wider organisational strategy and values of YoungMinds.

The Head of People will lead a team responsible for all HR activity throughout the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, occupational health & support, learning and development and ensuring the safe working and wellbeing of Young Minds employees and workers; as well as supporting YoungMinds safeguarding responsibilities to beneficiaries through safer recruitment and other safeguarding processes. 

The Head of People is critical to further embedding a culture of inclusion and wellbeing that encourages our employees to feel a sense of pride in their work and the work we do as an organisation.

The Head of People will be responsible for the following: 

  • developing and leading the People Strategy
  • overseeing the full employee lifecycle
  • overseeing employee relations
  • ensuring an effective People Business Partnering function to managers
  • developing and embedding learning and development across the organisation
  • leading on Organisational Development and change management
  • leading on employee wellbeing initiatives
  • ensuring people team operational performance
  • leading HR system development
  • ensuring effectiveness of HR policies and procedures are
  • maintaining an effective system of reward, pay and benefits for employees
  • assurance reporting to SLT and trustees

This role is advertised on a full-time basis but we are open to part time applications (a minimum of three days per week).

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of meeting the essential criteria to a satisfactory level.
