About this role

1. Trustee – General Board Membership

We are seeking an individual who can contribute to the effective governance and strategic leadership of YoungMinds. You will work collaboratively with fellow trustees to provide oversight, challenge and support to the organisation, ensuring we remain focused on our mission, values and long-term ambitions.

We are interested in candidates who bring strong strategic thinking, sound judgement, an understanding of good governance and a genuine commitment to improving young people's mental health.

Time commitment: approximately 8–12 days per year.

2. Lead Finance Trustee

We are seeking an individual with significant financial expertise and experience to provide leadership and oversight of the organisation's financial strategy and sustainability.

Working closely with fellow trustees and the executive team, you will help ensure strong financial governance, effective risk management and robust financial decision-making. You will also play a key role in supporting the work of the Audit & Risk Committee.

We are particularly interested in candidates with senior financial leadership experience, strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear strategic advice.

Time commitment: approximately 18–20 days per year.

3. AJEDI Lead Trustee

We are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to anti-racism, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (AJEDI), who can help ensure these principles are embedded throughout our governance, strategy and organisational culture.

You will provide leadership, insight and constructive challenge to the Board, supporting YoungMinds to strengthen its approach to equity and inclusion and ensuring that the voices and experiences of diverse communities are reflected in our work.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in anti-racism, equity, inclusion and social justice, alongside the ability to influence organisational change at a strategic level.

Time commitment: approximately 10–12 days per year.

About you

Above all, we want Trustees who share our commitment to improving young people's mental health and who are willing to bring their knowledge, experience and perspectives to support our work.

We recognise that great Trustees come from many different backgrounds. You do not need to have previous Trustee experience to apply, and we encourage applications from people whose experiences and perspectives are currently underrepresented in boardrooms.

We are committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
