60 Miles in June

What is 60 miles in June?

At YoungMinds, we make sure young people get the support they need by providing tools and resources to help them look after their mental health. We empower adults to be there for the young people in their lives and create opportunities for young people to speak out and drive change.

Back for it's second year, this June we're challenging you to complete 60 miles in one month to raise funds and help us create a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.

Go the distance. And whether you choose to walk, run, swim or roll – we'll be with you all the way.

Take part your way

This is your personal challenge, and we encourage everyone to adapt it to suit their needs and goals. If you’d like to use all 30 days in June to spread out the miles or do it in two weeks, that’s absolutely fine.

You can take part on a treadmill, or by walking or running. You can also use your wheelchair or mobility scooter to take part. The only thing that matters is that you challenge yourself.

However much you achieve, we're so grateful for your support and for raising much needed funds for YoungMinds.

We're here to support you every step of the way.

You'll get bespoke support from the fundraising team throughout your journey. Here are just some of the ways we'll have your back:

  • A supportive Facebook group

  • Regular emails throughout

  • A fundraising pack, including a distance tracker

  • Virtual milestone badges

60 Miles in June FAQs

Nope, this event is free for anyone to take part! However, every day we are supporting people with their mental health, so any donations you can raise for YoungMinds would really help us to reach more young people and families who need our support.

There's no registration deadline, but the t-shirt offer is available while stocks last, so we recommend signing up to join the challenge as early as possible to avoid any disappointment!

Facebook automatically sets the target on your page at £150! However, we only ask that you raise as much as you’re able to. You can adjust your target according to the challenge you'd like to set yourself too.

You can take part no matter how old you are! However, if you’re under 16, you will need a parent or guardian to sign you up to the challenge.

Please email fundraising@youngminds.org.uk with permission from your parent or guardian.

You should only take part in the challenge if it feels right for you. If doing an exercise challenge could trigger you or affect your mental health for the worse, please put your mental health first and don’t take part. There are plenty of other ways you can get involved, whether that’s donating to another person’s fundraiser or sharing our website with your friends and family.

If you’re struggling with an eating or exercise problem, or you think you might be, please know that support is available. For help and advice, take a look at our guide to eating problems for young people.

A first step could be visiting your GP to explore what support is available to you. You canfind your nearest eating disorder serviceon the NHS website. You may also find it helpful to contactBEAT, who specialise in providing advice around eating problems and disorders.

Alternatively, if you are a parent worried about your child's eating, take a look at ourparents' guide to eating problems.

You are more than welcome to take part wherever you are based in the world. However, unfortunately we can only ship t-shirts to UK addresses.

Yes, absolutely. Thank you for wanting to make a difference! You're welcome to make a donation. Please include '60 Miles in June' in the message box, so we can add it towards our overall total raised! Thank you so much for your support.
