Hello Yellow

Come together in yellow.

10 October 2024

Every year, thousands of schools, companies and communities come together to make World Mental Health Day that little bit brighter by wearing something yellow and donating to YoungMinds.

Right now, the world is a really tough place for children and young people to grow up in. We want young people to know that they don’t have to go through this alone. Things can get better.

This World Mental Health Day, wear yellow with thousands of others across the UK and raise money to show young people that they’re not alone with their mental health.

Because we stand brighter, together.

Sign up for Hello Yellow 2024

Join thousands of people across the country wearing yellow to show young people they're not alone.

By wearing something yellow, and donating what you can, you can make a real difference.

How your donations make a difference

Together, Hello Yellow supporters have raised an incredible £2,168,180 since 2016. Every pound raised helps us continue to work towards creating a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.

  • £2

£2 could help one young person reach YoungMinds online resources and information.

  • £30

£30 could allow us to answer a call from a parent or carer to our Parents Helpline.

  • £219

£219 could train one of our Parents Helpline Advisors to be able to provide information and support to parents and carers to help them support a young person in their life.

There are a number of different ways you can donate what you have raised to us. When donating, please make sure to use your ‘Supporter Reference’ and the initials 'HY' so that we know it has been raised towards the campaign.

FAQs for Hello Yellow

We encourage everyone to try and take part on 10 October as this is also World Mental Health Day, however you’re welcome to pick another date around this time if this is more convenient for you.

We also encourage schools in Scotland to pick an alternative date in their school calendar that works best for them to take part in Hello Yellow outside of half term.

We encourage everyone to wear yellow on Hello Yellow day, however if this isn’t your thing you’re welcome to come up with your own ways to show your support for young people’s mental health and have lots of activities and fundraising ideas in our digital fundraising pack, which you can access once you’ve signed up.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be sent a digital fundraising pack full of ideas and resources to support your fundraising. You can also find it here: Hellow Yellow Resources

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of Hello Yellow supporters taking part in this event every year, we are unable to send out any additional resources or promotional materials. However, once you’ve signed up to Hello Yellow you will have access to our Hello Yellow resources and fundraising packs to help make your Hello Yellow day incredible!

Our social media team try to keep posts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels related to mental health tips and information. Due to the large scale of our Hello Yellow campaign, we are therefore unfortunately unable to promote fundraising events.

We would love for you to let everyone know about your fundraising though, so please do get posting about it on social media! Tag us @youngmindsuk and use the hashtag #HelloYellow.

Thank you so much for thinking of inviting us to take part in Hello Yellow at your school. Unfortunately, we would not be able to accept your kind offer as we receive so many requests and simply do not have the resources or capacity to attend.

Any questions?
