Our vision
-
A world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.
We want to see a world where every young person who is struggling feels able to reach out, and has people and services around them who can really help.
As a YoungMinds Trustee you will have a significant impact in the work of the organisation, helping us to ensure that young people's voices are heard and shape what we do.
Young people’s mental health is one of the most urgent issues facing the UK today. At YoungMinds, we want to make sure that all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, whatever that looks like for them.
We are looking for Trustees who have a genuine, heartfelt affinity to our cause, and have a passion for collaborating and working with young people and families to achieve change. You’ll be joining a bright, dynamic team who are committed to supporting our ambitions.
Helping young people to look after their own mental health.
We provide young people with reassurance and advice to help them make positive choices for their mental health and know what to do next if they are struggling.
Making sure young people have adults around them who can really help.
Whenever a young person opens up about their mental health to an adult they trust, we want them to find someone who really gets it and can respond positively.
Building a youth-led movement to make sure mental health support is there for anyone that needs it.
By building a movement for change, through which young people can create the societal changes they want to see, we know that far more young people will get the support they need.
We aim to recruit a diverse range of Trustees to cover the skills we need. Each Trustee should have experience in at least one of the following (or similar transferable skills and/or experience):
All Trustees should have a passion for working with young people and young people’s participation in decision making and governance.
We welcome applications from Black and minoritised, LGBTQIA+ groups as well as from younger people, as they are currently under-represented on our Board.
We hope that you would like to join us at a very exciting stage of our growth and development.
One of our values is: “We celebrate what makes you you – whoever you are, we welcome you and encourage you to be true to yourself”.
If you are excited about helping us to achieve our mission, passionate about working at an organisation that puts the lived experience of young people at the heart of everything we do and want to be part of our drive to become a truly anti-racist organisation we want to hear from you.
To apply, please follow the application process outlined in the YoungMinds Trustee information pack. You will need to send your completed questions along with your CV and completed diversity self-identification form to recruitment@youngminds.org.uk.
When you join YoungMinds, you’ll be part of a passionate, hardworking team that cares about the work they do and wants to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.
