Youth Panellist She/Her Scarlett Skaa-luht
Scarlett is part of our Youth Panel and wants to bring her experience as someone who has struggled with her mental health to the decision making at YoungMinds. Find out more about Scarlett.
I’m on the Youth Panel because I’m passionate about mental health and I want to help in decision making within the charity as a young person with lived experience of struggling with their mental health. I think it’s great and really important that YoungMinds want to hear the voices and opinions of young people and allow us to help in decision making in ultimately a better future for young people’s mental health and the mental health services.
The value I relate the most to is: 'we celebrate what makes you, you'.
I believe this is important because YoungMinds is for all young people, regardless of race, religion, sexuality or gender identity. People of all backgrounds can struggle with their mental health and often prejudice against people from different backgrounds can cause problems in mental health. YoungMinds celebrates diversity and it’s important that everyone feels like they can access support for their mental health if they need to.
