Youth Panellist - She/Her Thusani (Tu-saar-ni)

Thusani's values

A group of young people sit around a table talking to each other. The person closest to the camera as the back to the camera and wears a dark red knitted jumper.

Why are you on the Youth Panel at YoungMinds?

I joined the Youth Panel because I want to advocate for all those struggling with mental health. Living with a mental health condition can be so isolating and I believe that more needs to be done to ensure no young person suffers in silence. The Youth Panel allows young people to be at the heart of fighting for this change and it allows so many of our voices to be heard.

Which of our values do you relate to most, and why do you think it’s an important value for us?

The value I relate the most to is: 'kindness is our strength'.

I relate to this value the most because I believe that the smallest acts of kindness can go a long way and create a positive change to someone's life. Being kind manifests in so many different ways, whatever it is, I think compassion is a gift that everyone is worthy of receiving.
